What stays on your phone
Your recipes, makeovers, favorites, preferences, and generated dish images are stored on your device and in your own iCloud or encrypted backups. There are no DishLift accounts and no server-side copy of your cookbook.
The preferences you can save are your goals, how strong a makeover should be, whether to keep the serving count, whether to stick to common groceries, whether to avoid artificial sweeteners, and whether to avoid protein powder. They stay on your device.
What leaves your phone
When you scan a recipe, the photo is sent through our server to Anthropic, which reads it and returns the recipe text. We don’t store the photo.
When you make a recipe over or generate a dish image, the recipe text is sent to our server to produce the result. Anthropic (Claude) rewrites the recipe. Google (Gemini) draws the dish image from the recipe’s title and ingredients, and the app labels that image AI-generated.
Requests carry a random device identifier that lets us limit daily usage. It is not linked to your name, Apple ID, or email.
What our server keeps
To enforce daily usage limits and control costs, our server records one line per request: the random device identifier, the time, the request size, whether it succeeded, and an estimated cost. It does not record the photo, the recipe text, or the generated image. These records are deleted automatically after 90 days.
Who processes your data
- Supabase runs our server functions, in its Canada Central region.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads recipe photos and rewrites recipes.
- Google (Gemini) draws dish images from the recipe’s title and ingredients.
Those providers process the request and return the result. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
This website
The dishlift.app website uses no cookies and no tracking. It does not set cookies, does not use browser storage, does not run analytics, and does not load third-party scripts. The pages are static files. There is no account and no form on this site.
If you email support@tjnai.ai, we receive whatever you put in that message — your address, and anything you write — and we use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Please don’t send recipe photos or health details by email unless you mean to.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may keep ordinary server logs for hosting, such as an IP address, browser type, and the time of a request. We do not add our own logging or analytics on top of that. GitHub’s privacy statement is at docs.github.com.
Children
DishLift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
